. Working Procedures

From the very start of the briefing process right through to the final mixes, we ask for plenty of input from you, because only you know your bussiness's strengths and market positioning and only you know what works best for your product

We then combine your knowledge and our marketing and musical experience to bring your bussiness to life in sound

We produce high impact music at very competitive rates. We work in our own facility utilising the latest technology. We use only the best talent available

A jingle package can have many uses: TV and Radio music beds, On-Hold Phone Messages, Corporate presentations, Audio Visual displays & Websites. The options are limited only by your imagination

The average life of a great jingle (that's the only kind we do!) is approximately 5 years or more, which can average out to only a couple of hundred dollars per year.

The FULL jingle package will include at least five mixes, including vocal edits and instrumental bed. We can even supply an edit several minutes long for On Hold messages.

Each FULL jingle package includes:

* a Master Audio CD with all mixes
* a Master 'DATA' CD (with mixes in 'wav' format & mp3 format)

The Master CD's will include:
* at least 5 mixes, including vocal edits and instrumental bed
* and instrumental version several minutes long for On Hold Messages
* several mp3 encoded mixes for use on websites etc
* several 'cut down' 15 second mixes

We have found the following Four Step procedure is simple and thorough:

Step One: We consult with you regarding concepts, target audience, style of music and lyric content etc. We discuss with you your musical preferences, until we are satisfied that we’re all ‘on the same wave length’. We then FORMULATE A BRIEF. This consultation can be done by phone, fax or email. We are always happy to work in whichever way you find effective.

Step Two: We write a DRAFT of the LYRICS and FAX or EMAIL them to you for your approval.

Step Three: We then produce your SUBMISSION JINGLE on cassette/ CD for you to approve. We discuss with you any further "fine-tuning" of this "submission jingle".

Step Four: Once we have your approval, we complete the FINAL JINGLE. You receive the master CD, DAT or Mini Disc with various mixes (full sung, top and tail, top only, tail only, music bed, inserts etc).

The total cost of a typical jingle package starts at under $1800 for a 30 second production which can also include "cut-down" 15 second versions. All costs are confirmed before we go into production.

We work with you to ‘fine-tune’ and re-work the jingle until you are totally satisfied with the final product.

. The Final Sound:

At Soundshed Music, in the all important final mixing stage, we use a unique combination of digital automation and maximisation to ensure that your jingle 'leaps out' of the speakers with a certain brightness and liveliness, making it seemingly louder in comparison with your competitors

Further helpful information regarding jingle packages:

To hear some jingles in various formats, have a listen to some of our sample jingles on our Samples page.

  • 1 Our jingles are usually Full Sung (Vocal throughout the whole jingle), but we also provide you with various mixes ( top and tail, top only, tail only etc.) which have singing at only some places throughout the jingle. This allows space for your spoken 100% voice overs.
  • 2 These spoken voice overs can be added and changed onto the existing jingle track at a later date whenever you require. We can also handle the recording of these spoken voice overs if you wish. To book and record a professional "spoken" voice over usually costs several hundred dollars on top of the jingle.
  • 3 A typical "top and tail" soundtrack might have:

    - Sung vocals for 6 seconds.

    - Spoken 100% Voice over for 17 seconds (which can include current special offers etc.).

    - Another sung vocal for 4 seconds.

  • - Final 100% voice over tag for 2 seconds.

  • 4 We can also produce in our packages two different styles of jingle:

    a) A corporate image version for general public awareness

    b) A more "up-beat" version for hard sell

This method allows for different advertisement styles (corporate image, classifieds etc.) or alternative station coverage i.e. Hits and Memories or younger Contemporary Rock formats. Both versions will be the same timing and lyrics (just the backing and vocal style on Version 2. will be more suited to contemporary rock audiences). This option requires increased budget.
